Party-affiliated graduates allowed to sit for BCSE exams
King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk has issued notices letting the new college graduates affiliated to political parties to sit for the Civil Service Examinations of this year.
According to Bhutan Civil Service Rules and Regulations, a person cannot be entitled to hold government service before three-year cooling off period from the politics.
Following the king’s order, the Civil Service Commission has extended registration for BCSE until July 30 midnight from initial July 23 deadline.
The announcement came after the graduates who were denied by the commission to register for exams appealed the king for intervention. However, it is not clear if same rules are applicable in future or is one-off.
Public service job is the most attractive employment in Bhutan.
