Bhutan lost second match in SAFF Championship

saffcupBhutan again lost its second match to Maldives in SAFF Championship played at Darath Rangasala in Kathmandu, Nepal on Wednesday evening local time.

Bhutan scored two goals against 8 by the Maldivian players. Skipper Ali Ashfaq of Maldives scored four goals to beat Bhutan 8-2 at their Group B match.

The Bhutanese fans had brief excitement when Bhutan’s mid fielder Pasaing Tshering scored first goal on 25th minutes against Maldives first goal on 16th minutes. Chencho Gyeltshen scored second goal for Bhutan on 35th minutes. Maldives caption and forwarder Ali Ashfaq made another hat trick scoring four goals. He had made two hat tricks against Sri Lanka.

However, Bhutan failed to put Maldives on hold in the second half when goals rain. Foul by Bhutanese goalkeeper and subsequently getting Red Card came costly.

Maldives had defeated Sri Lanka by 10-0 in their first match. Maldives has now secured their seat in Semi.
