Bhutan returns home from SAFF Championship

Bhutan scored a total of three goals in the SAFF Championship in Kathmandu and lost all the matches it played in league round. Bhutan’s possibility of moving forward ended when it lost its second match with Maldives.

On Friday, Bhutan lost to Sri Lanka by 2-5. Bhutan’s Pasang and Sonam Tenzin scored consolation goals on 45th and 58th minutes. Izzadeen of Sri Lanka made his hat trick when his team scored 5 goals against Bhutan.

Bhutan was along with Afghanistan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka in Group B. The team will be arriving in the country on Saturday.

Nepal will now face Afghanistan and India will face Maldives in the semi finals.
