Japanese envoy to Bhutan Takeshi Yagi called on the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay on Tuesday afternoon (17 September).

The visit of the Japanese diplomat comes amidst preparation on full swing to open Japanese embassy in Thimphu by first quarter of next year.

This is second Bhutan visit by Yagi. He last visited Bhutan in December, 2012.

PM Tobgay Yagi that he is not only delighted but also very honoured to receive a series of high-profile visits from Japan.

Ambassador Yagi thanked and congratulated PM for successfully assuming the post of the prime minister and said that they will ‘remain willing and ready to extend their support to Bhutan in all times to come’.

PM also congratulated the ambassador for the success of Tokyo’s bid in hosting the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games.
