DNC-D reshuffles central committee
Following resignation of Thinley Penjore and Narad Adhikari, Druk National Congress (Democratic) has announced reshuffle of the party team effective from November 15. Adhikari and Penjore are resettled in the US.
According to party statement, Rinzin Dorji has been named the new president of the party while Karma Chhoejay is vice president and spokesperson. Dorji was vice president in the old committee.
Similarly, Karjay has been named general secretary, Pema Choeda as General Secretary of Druk National Forum for Human Rights and Rabten as General Secretary of Youth (DNYC-D). Kinzang Dorji, Kezang Tshering and Karma Wangmo will continue as central committee member while Jangchhub and Ugyen Tenzin are new central committee members.
“After taking an oath by above newly ranking hard-liners in front of all the party members, the single largest majority political party in exile, Druk National Congress-Democratic led by eleven central committee members have further determined and strongly committed to struggle for the political change in the country,” read the statement.
The statement further reads, “Because 70 percent of Bhutanese population are still unhappy with a bogus democracy, that has helped and defending the prosperity of regime’s elites and their kin only.”
Party has also issued annually renewable membership cards to the 10 new active members.
