Dorji Choden in Denmark
Minister for Works and Human Settlement Dorji Choden is on a week-long visit to Denmark to attend the concluding event of a Film Festival in which two Bhutanese films are being screened.
The film festival will see the screening of “Yes, Madam Prime Minister – Lessons from Denmark” and “Bhutan Women Forward” produced by KCD Productions of Bhutan with support from Danish Institute of Parties and Democracy (DIPD).
The event was organized by the DIPD and the Denmark – Bhutan Friendship Association coinciding with the International Women’s Day (IWD).
The event also included panel discussion on women in politics comprising panelists of eminent Danish women.
During the visit, Minister Choden met with the former Mayor of Hillerod and visited Municipality of Lejre to learn their local government structure and administration, and to draw lessons that are appropriate for municipalities in Bhutan.
The special feature of the Lejre Municipality is to focus on organic activities through citizen’s participation.
She was also scheduled to meet with the AARHUS TECH, the technical education school, to exchange technical knowledge and expertise of mutual interest.
