Australia Red Cross looking volunteers for Bhutan

Australian Red Cross has announced opportunities to volunteer in its activities in Asia including Bhutan. The notice posted on this site reads, “Volunteer opportunities are now open in Botswana, Bhutan, Laos, Philippines and Timor-Leste.” The message post on the organisation’s Facebook reads, “We’re looking for special people with some very specific skills. If you know someone who fits the bill, tag them! They could soon be heading to Bhutan – the happiest country in Asia, and we’ll support them all the way.” The volunteers would have to work in communications and marketing, community development, education, finance, human resources and health. “You can work overseas with organisations that help people prepare for typhoons and floods, teach children with disabilities to realise their potential, promote sustainable farming, improve health and blood services, and much more,” the notice reads. Red Cross provides living allowances, airfares, insurance, training, health and in-country support for the volunteers. The Australian Volunteers for International Development program is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens with a Special Conditions Visa.
