Bhutanese youth festival in Sydney concludes

The Bhutanese Youth Festival and third interstate soccer tournament in Sydney concluded with grand success, thanks to the ABA Sydney and the Bhutanese community in Sydney.

Albury 3 Star lifted the trophy of the soccer tournament beating the defending champion Adelaide Dragon Red by 2-1. Launceston’s ABSNT team stood third while Hobart’s Druk Sporting United Club was awarded the fair play.

The final day of the festival also saw the exhibition soccer matches of girls and elderly members of the Bhutanese community while volleyball tournament, kids races and other smaller games were organised on the third day of the festival.

Talking to Bhutan News Network, coordinator of the festival organising committee Suman Chhetri thank all supporters, sponsors and members of the Bhutanese community who contributed wholeheartedly towards the grand success of this unique event.

He thanked Settlement Services International, CMRC, STARTTS and Penrith City Council who provided financial support to organise the event.

According to Chhetri, the meeting of the officials from all states held on Sunday afternoon resolved that Albury, NSW would host the interstate soccer tournament next year.
