A workshop on PPP with support from UNESCAP
With support from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), a two-day workshop on strengthening public-private partnership completed in Thimphu on Wednesday.
The workshop was aimed at supporting the government of Bhutan in implementing measures to efficiently involve the private sector in infrastructure development, UNESCAP statement reads.
The workshop complements the ongoing work to develop an effective PPP Policy Framework in Bhutan.
“In particular, the ESCAP Readiness Assessment tool will be used to identify the current obstacles for PPP development in Bhutan and to suggest some actions for addressing these obstacles. The workshop will also contribute to build the capacity of government officials to identify, develop and manage PPP Projects,” a statement issued by the UN agency before the workshop mentions.
