A top gajal writer of the Bhutanese community in exile is coming up with his most extensive collection of gajals along with a music album shortly.

Yam Thulung’s latest book of gajal collection – GAJALYAM – is the seventh book to his credit – five of them solo. Other publications to his credit include Dovan (poem collection), Ansuka Thopaharu (Gajal collection), Akshyarit Yatra (Gajal collection), Samayaka Khandit Aakritiharu (poem collection), Sabdastra (Rubai collection) and Ritto Akash (Gajal collection).

The newest book includes 95 gajals, only from his pen. The book is published by Shrasta Publication.

Similarly, Thulung is the lyricist of all six songs in the new album – Aaja. The album incorporates thrilling voices of veteran Nepalese singers like Uday Sotang, Sujan Tigela, Rajesh Payan Rai and Nikhita Thapa along with top Bhutanese singers like Arjun Rasaily and Kishor Siwakoti. Music composers of the album include Mani Kamal Chhetri, Arjun Rasaily, Sujan Tigela, Bulu Mukarung and Kishor Siwakoti.

Despite deteriorating market for Nepali music, encouragement from friends helped me to come out with this album. I hope readers and music lovers will accept my gifts, Thulung told Bhutan News Network.
