Cairns Bhutanese celebrate Dashain

Bhutanese resettled in Cairns, Australia have held a public cultural function to celebrate the Dashain, the greatest festival of Nepalis.

Hundreds of Bhutanese, along with local guests, gathered at the Trinity Bay State High School to celebrate the festival on October 24.

The event showcased cultural and artistic performances by young and old. Melbourne Bhutanese are scheduled to hold a public function on November 1 to celebrate Dashain and Tihar jointly.

Similar celebrations were held in other parts of the world where Bhutanese have been resettled including in United States and Canada.
