Border with Assam sealed
The Indo-Bhutan border along the Assam state has been sealed for second phase Assam assembly polls.
The polls are being held on Monday where people in 61 Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) spread across the middle Assam, lower Assam districts, including Bodoland region are casting their votes.
Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer said that district administrations in lower Assam districts have promulgated 144 CrPC, besides sealing of Indo-Bhutan border to the greater interest of conducting free and fair in the region.
A total of 10,435,277 voters will seal the fate of 525 candidates – 48 of those being women – in the second phase of polls.
