Body of missing boy discovered
The search for a man missing Bhutanese at Lake Hume in Albury has ended on Thursday afternoon with the discovery of the swimmer’s body by divers and identified by family members.
Emergency services, including volunteers in a search and rescue helicopter, scoured water off Table Top Reserve on Thursday.
The 24-year-old Bhutanese and resident of Adelaide, Amit Rai, was last seen in the water in darkness about 10pm on Wednesday.
He was with two people – friends, family members, or both – when he went missing. Rai was visiting Albury to see this friends and family members.
The police divers had been brought down from Sydney for the search and made the discovery.
Police will continue to investigate Mr Rai’s death and will prepare a report for the coroner.
