New year event in Columbus, US

Bhutanese Nepali Community of Columbus (BNCC) celebrated a Nepali new year 2071. Event was celebrated at Brookhaven auditorium Saturday (10 May).
Program was featured with various cultural dances, songs and poem recite. A typical Maruni dance was performed and was the one of the main point of attraction says Arjun Rasaily, the program coordinator. The distinguished YouTube guy Peter added glory by singing a Nepal song.
Hundreds of Nepali-origin Bhutanese people and representatives from various organizations and resettlement agencies witnessed the event. The guests were welcome and served with typical Nepali food.
In a special session a policeman oriented the people about security measures, traffics rules and the opportunity for the new immigrant youths to join in security forces. Said Laxmi Biswa, the vice-chair of BNCC.
The program was inaugurated when BNCC chair Bhim Bastola delivered his welcome speech. He stated that the community is organizing such event every year to celebrate the tradition, culture, heritage and identity of Nepali-origin Bhutanese people.
