Azerbaijan envoy calls on acting PM, speaker

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Ibrahim Asad Oglu Hajiyev called on the Speaker of the National Assembly Tshogpon Jigme Zangpo on Thursday (August 7). The Hon Speaker welcomed the Azerbaijani Ambassador and briefed him on parliamentary democracy and workings of the legislature in Bhutan.

Ambassador Ibrahim conveyed the greetings of the Azerbaijani Speaker and expressed that as small countries, it was important for Bhutan and Azerbaijan to support each other on the global stage.

On the day, Ibrahim Asad Oglu Hajiyev had also called on acting prime minister Damcho Dorji at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang after presenting his credentials to the King Jigme Khesar.
