Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay along with his cabinet’s key ministers and other business leaders is to embark on Bangladesh visit this week.

This will be Tobgay’s first visit to Bangladesh after he took the office of the prime minister in July last year.

Foreign Minister Rinzin Dorji and Economic Affairs Minister Norbu Wangchuk will be in his 10-member delegation that will travel to Dhaka on December 6.

A high level business delegation will also go with PM Tobgay.

The two countries will hold bilateral talks on electricity, water resources management, agriculture, trade and business, connectivity, heath, education, and culture at different level.

The bilateral trade agreement between the countries would be renewed during his visit.

He will also meet President Md Abdul Hamid, and leader of the opposition Rawshan Ershad, among others.

The two-way trade between Bhutan and Bangladesh stands at only $26 million.

Bhutan recently showed interest to buy surplus internet bandwidth from Bangladesh and export boulders for Bangladesh’s biggest-ever infrastructure project Padma Bridge.
