Gurung’s gazal album launched

The first solo music album of Bhutanese rising music star Laxman Gurung, who uses ‘Ekloudasi’ as nickname, has been launched amidst a special function organised in Adelaide on Saturday.
This is the first gazal music album by Australian Bhutanese whose lyricist are all Bhutanese writers. Similarly in all seven songs included in the album, Gurung himself is the musician.
This is the second musical album from Australian Bhutanese, first being by brother duo Narad and Taken Dahal, who also hail from Adelaide.
Gurung performed two songs from his album at the launching ceremony and unveiled another through a music video produced in Nepal, featuring Nepalese movie artists.
Popularity of Gurung as a singer in the Bhutanese community was demonstration by presence of community members who did not find space to sit. Such a full house show!
Speaking at the launching function, former chairperson of Bhutanese Australian Association of South Australia (BAASA) Jogen Gazmere stressed the need for financial, moral and all other forms of support to be given for new and rising music stars of the Bhutanese community in diaspora.
The album is immediately available for purchase at $10 excluding shipping cost.
