NA members plan and prepare for first session of second parliament
A preliminary meeting of the National Assembly was held on Tuesday to plan for the first session of the second parliamentary session set to begin next month.
According to NA secretariat statement, the meeting discussed on the draft agenda for the first session which will commence on September 7 and concludes on September 27.
It was decided that the Right to Information Bill would be tabled for deliberation while motions would be moved to amend the National Assembly Act, National Council Act, Election Act and Local Government Act in future sessions.
In addition, the first session of the second Parliament will ratify the MIGA Convention and approve the draft 11th Five Year Plan and the national budget for financial year 2013-2014. The annual reports of the Anti Corruption Commission, the Royal Audit Authority and the State of the Nation report by the Prime Minister will also be presented to the Parliament.
