National conference of the Bhutanese Australians in May

Bhutanese Australian Association of South Australia (BAASA) will be hosting the second national gathering of the Bhutanese Australians next month in Adelaide.

According to the organisers, the community leaders from across the states and territories will sit for two days to chart outs plans, policies and strategies for Bhutanese community development in the next four to five years.

The resolution from the conference will form the fundamental guidelines for community intellectuals and leaders to design and implement programmes most needed for community to address the problems and obstacles community members have been facing.

South Australia’s governor and premier are likely to inaugurate the two-day function jointly. The conference is to be attended by delegates from the state level community organisations.

Additionally, the organisers are also hoping to finalise the formation of a national organisation from the conference.
