Joint water experts meeting between India and Bhutan held

The Joint Expert Team (JET) meeting on water resources between the representatives of the governments of India and Bhutan concluded in Thimphu.
The representatives from India were associated with the Brahmaputra and Barak Basin Organisation(B&BBO) under the Central Water Commission) while those from Bhutanese were from Department of Hydromet Services.
Mr.Ranjan Kumar Sinha, Chief Engineer, B&BBO led the Indian delegation and Mr.Karma Tsering, Director, DHMS led the Bhutanese delegation to the meeting.
Joint Expert Team is a bilateral team constituted in 1979 for the monitoring and overseeing of the Flood Warning Program within DHMS under the Govt of India funded ‘Comprehensive Scheme for establishment of Hydro-meteorological observation and Flood Forecasting Network on rivers common to India and Bhutan’.
