New Bangladeshi envoy to Bhutan

The Bangladesh government has decided to appoint Jishnu Roy Choudhury as the new envoy to Bhutan.

He is currently serving as an additional secretary to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jishnu Roy Choudhury, a career bureaucrat, started his career in Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) 1984. In his career, he served in different levels of field administration including the Budget Wing of Finance Division of Bangladesh Secretariat.

He is a popular poet as well.

The position remained vacant ever since Imtiaz Ahmed completed his tenure in April this year.
